GNM – General Nursing & Midwifery

The GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) program is a 3-year diploma course designed to prepare students for frontline nursing roles in hospitals, clinics, and community healthcare centers.
This course focuses on patient care, maternity services, community health, first aid, nursing fundamentals, medical-surgical nursing, child health, and emergency response.
Students undergo regular hospital postings, gain hands-on clinical experience, and learn essential nursing procedures under the guidance of experienced doctors and faculty. GNM builds confidence, compassion, and professional discipline — the qualities every successful nurse should have.

Where You Can Work

After completing the GNM course, students can work in a wide range of healthcare settings. Career opportunities are available in government and private hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and community health centers. GNM graduates are also employed in diagnostic centres, old age homes, NGOs, and various public health programs. Those interested in home-based healthcare can work as home care nurses or personal caregivers. With increasing global demand for skilled nurses, students also get excellent opportunities to work abroad in countries offering high-paying healthcare jobs.
